En Bloc

An en bloc is a collective sale of property units to a common purchaser.

Basically when a buyer gets serious in acquiring all units in a development, homeowners in the residence vote for whether to agree to sell or not, and on what terms.

When a certain threshold of yes votes get cast, the en bloc sales will proceed to the next phase.

It must be noted that sometimes the en bloc sale is not initiated by potential buyers but by homeowners instead.

While property owners will usually receive a premium sale price for such transactions, it also means that there will almost always be unwilling homeowners who have to sell their homes against their wishes.
