When people say year of completion, it refers to the year the construction of a property was completed and ready for business or residential use.
It is also commonly referred to as the temporary occupation permit (TOP) date even though they are technically different.
The TOP is required should a building is to start allowing occupation before official authorities conduct inspections to ensure that the property meets their building guidelines and regulations.
Approval from authorities is usually a formality, but not guaranteed.
In that case, changes have to be done by the developer before official approval for occupation.
